Asbestos Measurement (SMA-rt)
Sometimes, for specific activities or newly developed remediation methods in SMA-rt, no validated work methods are available. As a precaution, these are classified based on the asbestos-containing product in the highest risk category. If you believe this classification is not justified, you can request an asbestos validation measurement.
What Does the Measurement Involve?
During this investigation, our certified asbestos inspectors determine all environmental factors and perform air measurements on individuals and in the surroundings. We then compare the asbestos concentrations measured during various activities to the threshold values. Based on this, we classify the activities or methods into the correct risk category, with the corresponding management regime. A higher safety expert (HVK) always performs an additional assessment.
According to NEN 2939
A validation measurement cannot be performed by just any agency. The government requires assurance that asbestos validation measurements meet all safety measures and are conducted as described in NEN 2939.
